sweet tiny pitbull mix girl dumped on Braes Bayou

I found her exactly where I had left her in the drenching rain yesterday. Found out from the lady on whose lawn this poor 30 lbs girl hangs out that this poor pooch has been around for close to 3 WEEKS!!! I know that she must have been dumped and returns to the place where her $%@!!! of a "family" abandoned her. At one point it time, she had a doggie companion but it disappeared. I hate to... think about what could have happened. Little girl eagerly ate but still doesn't trust me. I noticed she limped today, which worries me with the cars zooming by at really fast speed along Braes Bayou. I fear that she might become a road fatality, pregnant or even worse a bait dog...
